Armageddon Time

With its world premiere at Cannes, veteran director James Gray's latest film tells a deeply personal story of the strength of family ties, the complex nature of friendship, and the generational pursuit of the "American Dream." Anecdotal from Gray's own childhood set in Queens, New York in the 1980s, the film focuses on a period of political uncertainty, centered on the close friendship of two young boys, one Jewish and one black, as they struggle to find their own personalities. As personal as possible, bittersweet, sincere, emotional and touching as much as possible, Armageddon Time also received great praise for the memorable performances of the actors in its brilliant cast. James Gray, who we watched the movies Little Odessa, The Yards, We Own the Night, Two Lovers, The Immigrant, The Lost City of Z and most recently Ad Astra, says: “I wanted to do something about my family and that period of my life. It has also been a way for me to rediscover my passion for the movies I love.”
