Set in 1979 in East Germany, we begin the story with the crazy plan the two families are about to make. Making a crazy plan to get away from the German Democratic Republic and travel to the West, two families decide to build a homemade hot air balloon. The amateurs team, which made their first attempt after weeks of hard work, was about to arrive in West Germany, but failed when the balloon, which had become heavier due to heavy rain, fell to the ground. But they won't give up...
