The movie tells the story of two children, Lina and Dong. They live in the city of Ember, where the sky is always dark and the sun never rises. For this reason, the street lamps in the city and the lights in the houses are constantly on. As Ember City's energy supplies begin to run out, the lamps begin to flicker and go out. Following this, the two brothers start looking for solutions to solve the mystery that has existed since the founding of the city of Amber and bring the light of day to the people.
