In order to escape the civil war that has ended in Sri Lanka, Dheepan goes to France as a refugee, pretending to be family with a woman and a girl. The trio, who was placed in a housing estate outside of Paris, will have to deal with daily violence and family issues while trying to overcome the cultural conflict as immigrants.
