School is finally over, the weather is great, all the kids are out having fun and enjoying the holidays, and Greg is looking forward to having the best summer vacation ever. But his family's understanding of vacation is very different; Greg's dreams are shattered when his father arrives with plans to "spend family time, have father-son fun". Greg must do everything he can to make sure his vacation doesn't suck. And, to avoid going on vacation with his family, he gets a job for the summer at a luxury golf club, but even that doesn't save Greg from the sweltering heat of summer, being disgraced by his public clumsiness at the pool, and a camp that will go far worse than he planned.
