The film, in which Emma Mackey, whom we know from the Sex Education TV series, plays the rebellious and mismatched protagonist, turns the life of British writer Emily Brontë upside down. tells about his love and the process towards the writing of his masterpiece, Wuthering Hills. The film also delves into Emily's inspirations: her unbreakable bonds with her sisters Charlotte and Anne; the tortured, forbidden love she developed for Weightman; a weakness for his maverick older brother, Maverick, whom he overlooks. Premiering at the Toronto Film Festival in September, Emily is the self-written and directed debut feature by acting Frances O'Connor (Mr. Selfridge, The End).
