Ten-year-old Nicolas lives with his mother on an island where only men and women live. All boys are given a mysterious treatment in a hospital by the ocean. Nicolas begins to question this treatment and what is happening around them, and realizes that his mother has been lying to him. One night, he follows his mother to the beach and is shocked by what he sees. But what they see is just the beginning of the nightmare.
