Filan (Cecilia Cheung) lost her parents and considered going to Korea to find her only relative who needed to stay there. When he arrives, however, he learns that his relatives have moved to Canada. In order to survive and make a living in Korea, Faylan is forced to enter into a fictitious marriage and apply to the matchmaking office. Kang Jae (Choi Min Shik) is a former gangster whose life is empty and meaningless and his only goal is to buy a fishing boat to return to his village. One day, when he wants to gamble for money, his friend asks him to play the husband for his imaginary marriage. His friend asked him, "Would you like to see the woman who was your fake wife?" asked, Kang Jae playfully hands over his tie to the woman. Kang Jae quickly forgets about this marriage, and it is the most important marriage for Filan and continues to live in the hope that one day her husband will visit her. Filan spends lonely and sad nights just writing letters to her husband and considers him the best person in the world and expresses how much he loves her and how much she misses him but that he will never send it.
