When a speedster named Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) is about to die in a horrific accident during a race, his body is stolen seconds before a major accident by 21st century pirates. The goal of these high-tech hackers, led by Victor Wasendak (Mick Jagger), is to find healthy bodies for older, wealthier customers living in the future. Coveted by this group, Alex travels to 2009 to be handed over to his multi-billionaire McCandless boss after being stolen from his taxi. The process is extremely simple. The brains of dying or very old patients are transferred to healthy and young bodies brought from the past. Alex Furlong takes his own life and successfully escapes the men. However, in this terrible future of violence and greed, neither getting rid of Vasendak nor surviving alone seems impossible. Alex continues his fight for survival by trying to contact his ex-fiancée Julie (Rene Russo), who is now 15 years older than him and works as McCandless's manager...
