Gantz: Kei Kurono saves his friend Reika while he battles the 2016 Movie Invader monsters. Despite Reika's opposition, she dies immediately after confronting the leader of the monsters and killing him. Elsewhere, a man named Masaru Kato dies to protect someone from someone carrying a knife. He wakes up in the same room with Reika and her teammates. One of them, an old man named Suzuki, explains that they all died and woke up here.
