Algeria, 1959... The conflict escalates. During the war in the high mountains of Kabul, the commander of a French army division dies... After this, an idealistic lieutenant Terrien (Benoit Magimel) is brought to the head of the company. In this platoon, he meets Sergeant Dunyak (Albert Dupontel), who has lost hope in life. The differences between them and the difficulties of the military environment they find themselves in will be a test for the personalities of these two men. Lost in a nameless battle, two men realize they are their own worst enemies.
