King Richard focuses on the story of Richard Williams, who, despite having no ties to the tennis world, did his best to raise his daughters as tennis players and eventually brought two of the best female tennis players in history to the world of sports. Williams, who prepared a 78-page plan for her daughter's tennis career before Serena and Venus even started school, had to overcome many difficulties in order to create a space for her daughters to develop themselves in Compton, which is swamped by drugs and violence.
