April 26, 1986. Anya and Pyotr are in the fun of their own wedding. Little Valeri and her father Alexei, a physicist at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, plant an apple tree. Just then, an accident occurs at the nuclear power plant. A yellow rain falls, the trees turn red. Pyotr never comes back. Alexei prefers to disappear. Ten years later, the abandoned city of Pripiat has become a desolate place and a strange tourist destination. Is there any hope for life?
