Adapted to the big screen from author Howard Gould's novel Last Looks, the film tells the story of Charlie Waldo, a disgraced ex-detective. Charlie Waldo was one of the Los Angeles Police Department's most successful detectives at the time. But one day he makes a huge mistake with his murder case and must embarrass the department to leave. Charlie, whose life was destroyed after leaving his job, now leads a completely isolated life. Living alone in the woods for a while, Waldo's quiet life is interrupted by a sudden offer. When the wife of an eccentric television star is murdered, Waldo is asked to investigate the case as a private detective. However, this investigation will be much more complicated than it seems at first.
