John Luther, a former detective, is desperate to bring a sadistic serial killer to justice. When the authorities fail to catch the killer, Luther takes matters into his own hands and breaks out of prison to pursue the killer on his own. As he closes in on the killer, Luther must navigate the dangerous underworld of London and confront his own demons in order to catch the killer and bring him to justice.
