Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a daring billionaire at the peak of his career. His eponymous company, FireBrand, is about to complete its biggest success in history, the tallest skyscraper in the northern hemisphere. But Tom's workaholic lifestyle has cut him off from his beautiful wife Lara (Jennifer Garner) and cute daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman). Rebecca's 11th birthday arrives and she asks for the gift she wants every year: a cat. Tom hates cats, but he has no other ideas and is running out of time. His GPS takes him to the curmudgeonly Felix Perkins (Christopher Walken) shop, which is full of weird and foreign cats. Felix Perkins also gives Tom the imposing tomcat, Mr. Hairy. Things take an unexpected turn when Tom gets stuck in Mr. Hairy's body on his way to give his daughter the gift of his dreams.
