The bank liens the lands of the two brothers who make a living by farming in the village of Peepli and announces that the lands will be sold by auction. Thereupon, the two brothers decide to borrow money from the richest man in the village and also the head of the district. When they go to the district president's house to borrow money, they are mocked at themselves, even promising that the state will give them a hundred thousand rupees if they commit suicide. One of the brothers had this idea in mind. When local channels report this event, the event takes on a national dimension.
