Pinocchio 1940

Some dark moments in this Italian fairy tale by Carlo Collodi were removed by Disney, who of course bought the story. But only part of it. Not all of the studio's changes to the resurrected wooden doll story make things worse, as the enduring appeal of the Pinocchio cartoon shows; and many of the scariest details still prevail. Even today, the dangers Pinocchio faces as he gets used to friends who distance him from being a real man adds an element of fear to this classic. Under the guidance of "conscientious" cricketer Jiminy Cricket (though he can't always keep his word), Pinocchio must learn both a sense of responsibility, courage and love on his cunning but innocent path to being human. After Snow White, Disney's second feature film Pinocchio devastated the still untouched world of animation; It tells the story of magical and celestial beings like the shimmering Blue Fairy, their escape from the Cursed Isle of Pleasure, and their thrilling encounter with Monstro, the whale that lives up to its name. Do you think it's surprising that "Pinocchio", which includes songs such as "When You Wish for a Star", which has become a classic, is at the top of animation movie standards?
