After immigrating from Greece to Nigeria, Vera and Charles Antetokounmpo are faced with the threat of deportation, while trying to meet the needs of their children. Meanwhile, their eldest son is still in Nigeria with relatives. While they are trying to get Greek citizenship, every attempt is negative. After selling sunglasses to tourists on the streets of Athens with the rest of the family, the brothers play for the local youth basketball team. Despite starting at an advanced age, they discover that they are very talented in basketball and work hard to become a world class athlete. Through a manager, Giannis is unlikely to be selected for the 2013 NBA Draft, which changes not only his life, but the entire family's life.
