After being captured by the Turks during the Crusades, Robin of Locksley and his friend Azeem flee back to England. Robin saved Azeem's life, and Azeem vows to stay with Robin until he pays off the debt. While Richard the Lionheart was at war, the Sheriff of Nothingham, Richard's traitorous brother, Prince John, also killed Robin's father and took the throne. Robin, who only learned all this when he returned, vows to avenge his father and restore Richard to the throne. He escapes to the Sherwood woods and becomes the leader of the exiled villagers there. With the help of the villagers, he tries to clean up the evil spread by the sheriff from England.
