Qi jian 2005

In the early 1600s, the Manchus conquered China and established the Qing Dynasty. With many nationalist uprisings still simmering in the martial arts community, the newly formed government immediately bans martial arts, outright banning them in order to gain control and order. Wind Fire (Sun Hong-Lei), a surrendered military official from a previous dynasty, sees this as an opportunity to get rich by helping to enforce the new law. Greedy, cruel and immoral, Windfire is wreaking havoc on Northwest China and her next goal is to attack the final frontier, the Military Village. Fu Qingzhu, a retired executioner from an ancient dynasty, feels the need to put an end to this atrocity and sets out to save Bowei Castle. He brings Wu Yuanyin and Han Zhiban from the village to Heavenly Mountain to seek help from the Shadow Light Master, a monk who is a master swordsman and the leader of a group of great swordsmanship students. Master Shadow-Glow agrees to help and orders his four best students to go. Together with Chu Zhaonan, Yang Yunchong, Mulong, and Xin Longzi, SEVEN SWORDS are formed and their heroic journey begins. As they lead the entire village to a safer place, they begin to encounter a mysterious confusion. Food and water are poisonous, and escape routes are marked with signs directing the enemy to them. They soon realize he's a secret spy, and the SEVEN SWORDS must identify him before the Fire Wind army can reach them. The situation between this narrow gap between life and death is further complicated by the blossoming of love.
