Patricia Riggen is the director of The 33, which was released in Chile on 6 August 2015 and is adapted from a true story. The film, which is about a biographical story, stars Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro and Juliette Binoche in the lead roles. As a result of a mining accident that took place in Chile in 2010, the struggle for survival of 33 mine workers underground for 69 days is told.
