Parvana, an 11-year-old Afghan girl, is an ordinary Middle Eastern girl living under environmental pressure. His father is wrongfully imprisoned. In order to support his family, he disguises himself as a man and starts working. Working with her friend Shauzia, Parvana discovers a free and dangerous world. Powered by the fantastic stories she created, Parvana tries to find her father and reunite her family.
