Norville Barnes, a not-so-brilliant country boy designed a toy project that he thought was perfect for kids. Dreaming of making it a reality, he comes to a big city and starts working from the bottom up: He starts working as a clerk at Hudsucker Industries, a large company. All the while, the company's chairman of the board is shaken by the tragic suicide of Waring Hudsucker. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to seize power, one of the managers, Sidney Mussberger, tries to take advantage of Barnes' naivety when he comes to tell him about his project and thinks he can play the company by hiring a fool. was appointed chairman of the board of directors.
