While the film made its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada on September 11, 2015, it was screened in Turkey on October 2, 2015, as in many other countries in the world. While the movie is actually a movie adaptation of the most loved and best-selling book of 2014, the Martian, it also sheds a detailed and action-packed mirror on the experiences of the astronaut who was stranded on Mars, based on his diaries. During the filming of The Martian, Ridley Scott talked about the troublesome shooting process of Matt Damon's solo scenes. While Nasa was consulted on all matters related to Mars and its properties, starting before the filming and until the completion of the shooting, the consultancy money to be paid to Nasa regarding this cooperation was not accepted due to federal laws. He also admitted that what he felt in the scene where Mark became emotional right after hearing Commander Lewis' voice, which was one of the important scenes of the movie, was real.
