The Soloist
(2009)The Soloist 2009
Nathaniel Ayers, a schizophrenic survivor in his second year at Juilliard, finds himself homeless on the streets of Los Angeles as his illness progresses. As he tries to make a living by playing the violin and cello, Ayers' life begins to change over time. Adapted from the real-life book of the character of Steve Lopez, played by Robert Downey Jr., the film deserves credit for the presence of Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who took extensive cello lessons for his role.
