Along the way, Balmani faces many challenges and encounters various obstacles, such as wild animals, harsh weather, and dangerous terrain. But with the help of a wise old hermit and a group of friendly forest dwellers, he learns to survive in the wilderness and becomes a skilled tracker and hunter. As he grows stronger and braver, Balmani also learns the importance of preserving the natural world and protecting the animals that live in it. Eventually, he reaches the sanctuary and finds a new home for the tiger cub and himself. But he soon discovers that the sanctuary is not as safe as he thought and he must fight to protect it and its inhabitants from those who would do them harm.
