The Wizard of Oz 1939

The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939, based on L. Frank Baum's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Directed by Victor Fleming, Richard Thorpe, Mervyn Leroy and King Vidor, the film won two Academy Awards and was nominated for four Oscars. American actress Judy Garland, who died in 1969, American actor Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Billy Burke, Bert Lahr and Jack Haley, who died in 1949, all play the leading roles in the film, which reaches everyone, young and old, with its messages. Living modestly in a farmhouse with her aunt and her aunt's husband, Dorothy breaks up with Toto when neighbors, annoyed by her little dog Toto, threaten to leave the dog behind. Encountering the Witch of the East in a hurricane, Dorothy kills the witch and becomes a kind of hero. Dorothy, who is tasked with going to Oz and finding the wizard by hiding the magical shoes that her fairy mother gave her, makes new friends as she travels to the place where the Wizard of Oz lives with his dog Toto. The first of his friends is a tin robot. After meeting Dorothy, the robot thinks he has a chance to find the "heart" he's been dreaming of for a long time, when he finds out that the girl has gone to the Wizard of Oz and joined Dorothy and Toto. Robot, Toto and Dorot stumble upon a scarecrow on their way to the Wizard of Oz headquarters. Wanting to join the trio, this scarecrow is made of straw and requires "brains" from the Wizard of Oz. Wanting to return to their home, Dorothy and Toto continue on their way, while a straw man and robot wanting a heart are afraid of a lion they encounter in the forest. However, the lion will also have a request from the Wizard of Oz; "bravery".
