Penny Baxter, one of the rebel soldiers after the American Civil War, was one of the first to settle in Florida with her husband Orry and 12-year-old son Jody. The Baxter couple, who previously lost two of their children, caused Orry to take a harder look at life. On the other hand, Penny and her son are more warm and loving. Adapted from the novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, the film is about the strong friendship of 12-year-old Jody, who lives with her poor family in Florida. Everglades with deer.
