In the movie, Tom travels to the Quebec countryside for the funeral of his girlfriend, Guillaume. There, she meets Guillaume's mother and extremely macho older brother, Francis. While it's clear that the grieving family was unaware of the affair, things get complicated when Francis begins laying down the rules of a puzzling game one by one. This game both suffocates and excites Tom.
