Based on Robert Kimmel Smith's award-winning book, The War with Grandpa is about Peter (Fegley), a sixth grader with an average childhood. Peter loves to play games, hang out with his friends and beloved Air Jordans couple. However, when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with Peter's family, the boy is forced to give up his most precious property, the bedroom. Not allowing such injustice to survive, Peter devises an increasingly elaborate set of plans and various jokes to fire the newly arrived supporting actor. Grandpa Ed has no intention of leaving without a struggle. A sweet competition will begin between them.
