West Side Story is a musical adaptation of the play of the same name, which was staged on Broadway in 1957. There is another classic adaptation of the game, which was brought to life in 1961. Master director Steven Spielberg is preparing to introduce West Side Story to the next generation. West Side Story is essentially inspired by the sad story of Romeo and Juliet. West Side Story, which took the part of the feuding families from the story of Romeo and Juliet and turned it into gang wars in New York, told the gangs of Jets, which is composed of whites and led by Riff, and Sharks from Puerto Rico, led by Bernardo, in a musical language. The film, which tells the love story of a young girl and a young man belonging to the Sharks and Jets, two hostile street gangs, and their inability to reunite, puts a modern Romeo and Juliet adaptation into the musical genre.
