Living in Texas gives Bliss Cavendar two choices: soccer or beauty pageants. These two categories are divided according to sexual roles. Happiness is increasingly suppressed by this monotony and lack of choice. His mother, a former beauty queen, wants Bliss to follow suit. Bliss, who has tougher and more masculine features, has different plans. Whip It peaked at #6 at the US box office in its first week of release.
