A Bridge Too Far
(1977)A Bridge Too Far 1977
II. After the Normandy landings in World War II, the Allies moved to occupy the Netherlands and seize the Ruhr, Alma's industrial area, to seize the Nijmegen and Arnheim bridges over the Rhine to keep the Germans out of the war. The strategic importance of the invasion plan lies in the dispatch of the paratroopers. However, a big mistake is made and the paratroopers descend much further from the area where the Arnheim bridge is located. Contrary to popular belief, the fact that the German forces in the region are strong enough and some wrong information will turn this operation called "Sunday Garden" into a series of mistakes and lead to tragic results.
