President Nixon is the first and only president in American history to be forced to resign. All of this is the result of an investigation by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, two daredevil journalists who reported as detectives to the Washington Post about a case that would go down in history when the Watergate scandal unfolded: October 17, 1972, members of the Republican Party, of which several Nixons were members, the election. He had infiltrated the headquarters of the Democrats who could win and had a phone tapped. Close observation of the two journalists reveals that the perpetrator was at the very top of the Republican Party. Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford play journalists at the center of the 4-Oscar-winning film Alan J. Pakula's film is still going strong despite the passing years. An amazing production that shows what the media can do when it uses its power in a positive way.
