Two young American tourists (David Naughton and Griffin Dunn) hitchhike through the United Kingdom before heading to Italy. Traveling through the foggy, wet, dark and barren lands in the north of the country as if there is no other place to go, the duo want to spend the night in the village along the way. However, the villagers are not very friendly and the young people think it is better to be outside than inside and leave the village. Two teenagers who do not take the villagers' warnings of "stay on the road" seriously are attacked by a ferocious creature. Jack (Griffin Dunn) is dismembered and David (David Naughton) is rescued with injuries. After being hospitalized in London for about a month, David recovers during this time and bonds with a beautiful nurse (Jenny Agutter) at the hospital. After being discharged and settled in a nurse's home, David is followed by a zombie dream of his late friend Jack. Zombie Jack claims that David will turn into a werewolf in two days due to his bites, and asks David that the curse must end and that David kill himself before the other people get hurt.
