Adapted from Neil Simon's play, The California Suite is a live-action game that uses a large hotel as the main venue and chronicles the entertaining experiences of hotel guests. Master director Herbert Ross sits in the director's chair of the movie, which has turned into a star parade with its large cast. It should also be noted that Maggie Smith, who portrays an actress waiting for an Oscar, won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this role.
