Heavy Metal
(1981)Heavy Metal 1981
The comics movement that swept Europe in the second half of the 70s and politically misplaced free adult sexuality, violence, fantasy, and sci-fi reached its peak in Le Metal Hurlant. Inspired by this magazine, Heavy Metal came to life in the USA in 1977. Offering the opportunity to showcase the works of distinguished creators of the New World as well as European works, the magazine has managed to remain strong even after the "death" of its older brother on the other side of the Atlantic. As for the 1981 movie Heavy Metal, a feast of 5 (+1 video extra) stories from the pages of this cult magazine is offered to fans of this genre. Den and Harry Canyon are undoubtedly the strongest names in this collection, which offers a very interesting range of content in terms of storytelling, although the animation quality is not very touching. While the mysterious sphere called Lok-Nar, which contains all the evils in the universe, wanders in the universe, it interferes with the course of events in many places, including our world. Loc-Nar is nothing more than an invention used to combine animation from unrelated content and visual effects described in Heavy Metal. (Film)
