Kirsty revealed that in the previous movie Cenobites were human in past lives, but Channard's Cenobite killed the rest. Here, Joey is a reporter for a TV channel. During filming at the hospital, he sees a patient in chains and witnesses supernatural images in the operating room. He decides to investigate this situation and tells Terri, whom he saw that night, to tell everything. Meanwhile, Joey begins to have nightmares and constantly sees his father, who died before he was born.
