George Washington McLintock (John Wayne) is the richest man in his district. She is looking forward to the return of her daughter, who has been away from the city for school for two years. On the other hand, his wife, who left him years ago, has returned to pick up his daughter. McLintock is a man who is highly respected by all the townspeople, and who in his own way ensures an honest life for all locals. His stubborn wife, daughter and townspeople will do their best to keep him alive without being overwhelmed by the responsibility placed on him.
