Clint Eastwood's directorial debut... Disc jockey Dave Garver loves Evelyn Draper, who says he's a fan. Dave goes to Evelyn's house after the bar closes, unaware of the trouble this chance encounter will cause him. This woman, an Erroll Garner fan, starts watching Dave after that night. Suddenly, Dave is at Evelyn's mercy. Constantly in front of her at business meetings and private dinners, Evelyn begins to threaten Dave's girlfriend, Toby Williams. Dave was late to keep the situation from getting out of control.
