Cornell Woolrich's short It Should Have Been Murder was screened by chief director Alfred Hitchcock, and Rear Window, one of the most successful crime thrillers in cinema history, was born. Despite Jeff's indifference, Lisa tries to maintain her relationship with a young man without losing hope. While all this is going on, Jeff turns his attention to an elderly couple's house in the apartment across the street and realizes that something is wrong. According to Jeff, the old man killed his wife, who could not stand up, with a knife and buried her in secret. Although this scenario may seem pointless at first glance, Lisa, unable to remain indifferent to concrete evidence, teams up with Jeff to pretend to be a detective.
