Clayton Poole (Jerry Lewis) is a young television repairman in a small town. However, his childhood sweetheart has always been in love with the famous movie star Carla Naples (Marilyn Maxwell). But Carla's brother Sandy (Connie Stevens) also misses Clayton and dreams of marrying him. The truth is, she'll be starring in a big movie soon and no one should know about this marriage. So, before filming begins, she decides to have the baby and give it to the only person she can trust, Clayton, because her Mexican husband has passed away. But not one but three children are born, and Clayton must keep his word.
