Alma and Alex, two teenage sisters, have survived a catastrophic event that has left them isolated deep in the woods. Their Mother, a strict and overprotective woman, has kept them sheltered from the ominous beings known as the Shadows, who roam the world beyond the river, a boundary that Alma and Alex are forbidden to cross.

One day, while accompanying Mother on a hunting trip, Alma and Alex inadvertently set off a chain of events that will lead them to uncover the truth about the Shadows and the reality they have been shielded from. As they venture further into the unknown, they encounter strange and unsettling phenomena, gradually unraveling the mysteries that surround them.

With each revelation, Alma and Alex come face to face with the dark forces that have plagued their existence.
