Allory, Andrea and Miller are allied saboteurs tasked with an impossible mission. Screenwriter Carl Foreman ("High Noon", "Bridge Over the River Kwai") was blacklisted for many years He had to regain his name and reputation after working anonymously. To do this, he decided to bring the best-selling Alistair MacLean's Balls of Navarone to the big screen. With an excellent cast and a great production, the movie was a huge success. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won an Academy Award for Best Special Effects… While Foreman was a success, McLean was the real beneficiary and his novels made it to the big screen. The Ice Station, the source of many adventure epics, including Zebra and Where Eagles Dare. But Balls of Navarone not only became the most successful of McLean's adaptations, it also became one of the notable action-adventure films...
