Le dernier métro 1980

The years when World War II devastated Paris, the city of lovers and poets... Marion is a successful actress married to the theater owner Lucas. Their lives filled with theater and art fall into a bottomless pit with the bitter realities of war. Lucas is Jewish, and being a Jew during WWII was the hardest thing. Unlike Lucas, who thinks he has no choice but to leave the country to survive, Marion thinks she can hide him in the theater so they can continue with their lives and make art without closing the theater. One of François Truffaut's influential works on art and the realities of life, Last Metro drew attention with the extraordinary performance of two master actors Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu.
