The Long Goodbye 1973

Philip Marlowe is a witty and chain-smoking private detective who finds himself arrested by the police on suspicion of assisting in the murder of his friend Terry's wife. However, upon being released, Marlowe learns that Terry has actually committed suicide in Mexico. Soon after, he is hired by a beautiful woman who lives in the same area to find her alcoholic and mentally unstable husband. Additionally, a gangster named Marty Augustine claims that Terry had given Marlowe $350,000 before his death and demands the money back immediately. Marlowe starts to follow the gangster after he leaves his house and realizes that his next stop is the woman who hired him. With his cynical and arrogant personality, Marlowe sets out to uncover the secrets behind these events.
