Arrogant Texan millionaire Joe Grant (Ralph Bellamy) puts three cowboys on a train to strike a deal. Joe Grant claims his wife Maria Grant (Claudia Cardinale) has been kidnapped by Mexican revolutionaries Jesús Raza (Jack Palance) and demands his rescue. Team leader Henry "Rico" Fardan (Lee Marvin) tells him they need another explosives expert. Texas millionaire Joe Grant agrees to a deal with four cowboys (Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Wood Strode and Robert Ryan). However, interesting developments are taking place. They doubt whether Miss Maria Grant was really kidnapped.
