Crisagon de la Crue (K. Heston), a Norman knight in the service of the Duke, returns to the Druid coastal village where he had previously failed in his failed attempt to build a defensive stronghold. He tries to regain the duke's power against the frontier barbarians and eventually falls in love with one of the women he rescues, Bronwyn (R. Forsythe). Bronwyn's father, Odins (N. McGinnis), the village headman, asks Chrysagon's permission to marry his daughter to Mark (J. Farantino) in the cradle. Crisagon approves of the marriage, but soon regrets his decision because he wants to marry Bronwyn. Meanwhile, war is about to begin on the beaches of Normandy.
