The Wind and the Lion 1975

When Theodore Roosevelt had just won the 1933 US presidential election, an American woman named Eden Perdicaris (Candice Bergen) and her two children were kidnapped in Morocco. The kidnapper is a Berber chief named Moulay Ahmed al-Rasuli (Sean Connery). This kidnapping alarmed the French, British and Germans, who at that time were dividing the Moroccan kingdom among themselves. Because they fear that Roosevelt, who has turned this event into a matter of national honor, will send troops to Morocco and share the cake there. When no trace of the Berber leader was found wandering both in the mountains and in the desert, Rasouli's nephew felt the need to seek help from the Moroccan sultan. On the other hand, after a long time, Perdicaris Hanım and her children will get used to Resuli's lifestyle and kidnapping will gradually turn into a voluntary hostage situation.
